Our insurance is only available to residents of the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands. If you live elsewhere then our insurance is not suitable for you and you will need to arrange appropriate cover in your country of residence.
We accept payment by credit/debit card via our online system so that you can put cover into effect and receive your policy documentation instantly. We can also take payment over the phone if you prefer to call us to pay. In some circumstances, payments can be accepted by BACS transfer or cheque (please contact us for details). Unfortunately, we cannot offer payment by instalments.
Once you have paid for your policy, your documents will be emailed to you instantly and will also be available for you to view & access via your online account.
Approximately one month prior to your policy renewal date we will email a renewal invitation to the email address we hold on record for you. We do not operate an automatic renewal system, or retain previous card payment details, so if you would like to renew your insurance, we require a payment from you in accordance with the renewal invitation issued. You can either pay via your online account, or call us on 01252 735806 to pay by card over the phone.
We can offer cover for a large number of activities (providing you are qualified to teach/practice them) and these can usually be added to an existing policy. Some activities will attract an additional premium and any mid-term amendment to your policy will result in an administration change. Please contact us either by phone or email with details of the changes you wish to make.
Our policy automatically covers you to teach from home (for the malpractice and public liability cover in respect of your teaching) however you may need to consider whether you wish to extend your cover to include Public Liability in respect of the premises risk for your home. This extension protects your legal liability in respect of your ownership/occupancy of the premises should someone suffer an injury whilst visiting your home for business purposes e.g. trips on a loose/uneven flagstone or trips on a worn carpet etc.
Our insurance will automatically cover you to teach/treat children in so far as your training has qualified you to do so. When teaching/treating any person aged 16 or younger, you must obtain prior consent from their parent or guardian that the activity/treatment can take place and the parent/guardian must be in attendance during the appointment/session unless they have given their prior written consent not to be present.
This is dependent on the activity/activities for which we insure you and whether the training you have completed requires you to obtain health information before commencing the treatment/activity.
All new fitness, gym or aerobics clients must complete either a medical questionnaire or pre-exercise health questionnaire (PARQ) and the questionnaire must be reviewed by you prior to commencement of such classes to ensure the client’s suitability to participate in the activity.
No, there is no requirement for this under our policy however if you are in any doubt regarding the use of a disclaimer then you should seek professional legal advice.
If you need to change the type of insurance you hold with us e.g., from an individual to a company/studio policy please contact us on 01252 735806 to discuss your requirements, or email us at enquiries@wellbeinginsurance.co.uk
